October Lettings Market Update
Market conditions witnessed in the sales market over the past year are now evident across the rental sector. Demand is high, with a shortage of available properties to rent pushing annual rent growth into double digits.
A Big Increase
Average rents in England and Wales have increased 11% year on year.
According to the RICS survey Tenant demand is at its highest level ever recorded. Against a backdrop of a shortage of available properties to rent, properties are renting quickly with void periods being much lower.
Projections for rental growth over the next 12 months has risen above 3% for the first time since 2016.
